Amber
Liquid Gold.
According to scientists, Amber is a fossilised tree resin that has taken millions of years to form. The scent we know as "amber" however has very little do with this pre-historic sap. Amber exists in fragrance as a fantasy note, an accord, where several ingredients, particularly resins, find harmony together to form what is referred to as "amber".
Scent Profile: Can be sweet, smokey, balsamic, honeyed, resinous, cosy and powdery. Combines best with vanilla, tonka bean, leather, sandalwood, balsam and patchouli.
Made Famous In: Serge Lutens, Ambre Sultan (2000).
