Clove
The richest of all spices.
Cloves are grown as evergreen trees and they are picked when they are un-open. They are responsible for producing one of the most important essential oils of the spice family: eugenol. It can be as high as 90% of the composition of the essential oil, containing traces of vanillin, tannins and an analgesic.
In modern perfumery, cloves are versatile and act to "unify" other notes in the composition, often lifting the heart of any fragrance it is found in.
Scent Profile: Aromatic, sweet and warm.
