Oakmoss
The scent of the forest.
Oakmoss is a species of lichen found in temperate mountainous forest regions across the Northern Hemisphere. It grows on the branches and trunks of oak trees.
It is one of the most popular raw ingredients in modern perfumery. Both the absolutes and extracts are utilised.
Scent Profile: Reminiscent of a damp forest floor; dank and earthy and woody with clear hints of musk and amber. Can be inky and slightly sharp.
