An aromatic resinous sap from a specific variety of trees in the genus Boswellia. The highest quality Frankincense essential oil is distilled from the resin inside the tree, under the bark. In order to extract the oil, a precise procedure must be carried out which can only take place twice a year for two weeks.
The crystal resin goes into the distillery where it is crushed into powder, put in an oil bath, and steam distilled to extract the essential oil.
Scent Profile: Like church incense. Also earthy, spicy, and slightly fruity.
