Vanilla
A climbing plant similar to the orchid. The world's most popular variant originates from Mexico. However, little harvesting of vanilla actually takes place there. Bourbon vanille or Madagascan vanilla is the most widely used in perfumery. Tahitian vanilla is rarer and more expensive, and has a milder, fruitier nuance. French vanilla is not a special kind of vanilla but a quality indicator that labels its taste and scent as intensive and real, i.e. identical to natural vanilla.
Scent Profile: Bourbon vanille is rich in scent and taste. French vanilla is more gourmand, like ice-cream.
Found In: Burberry, Goddess EDP (2023).
